Introduction

HACKnet is a message network that allows relativly free speech. Swearing,
abusive messages and talk on illegal topics is all quite kewl with us.
Here are the quidelines for HACKnet..

 í HACKnet is a HANDLES ONLY system. This is to hide the identity of
   everyone. Even netmail is handles only.

 í All messages must be in English.

 í To apply for a node number, aquire and set up the following software
      1) FrontDoor (or other front end mailer)
      2) Fmail (or another mail tosser)
      3) A BBS
   Then complete the application form, send it and wait.

 í You can apply as an ElItE system, or as a normal system. ElItE systems
   are WaReZ and other illegal systems. Normal systems are everyone else.

 í The nodelist is a list of all the systems in HACKnet, it is issued by
   the International coordinator. There are two versions.
      1) Full - this contains all info, and is only used by fully trusted
         nodes and coordinators.
      2) Dummy - doesn't contain phone numbers, except those needed for
         normal operation. It is given to systems that aren't fully
         trusted. If you get this dummy list, don't take it personally.
         We must protect the identity of ElItE boardz

 í A SAMPLE nodelist is included in this archive.

 í ALL netmail is routed through the coordinators. This helps keeps costs
   down.

 í Some echos are only available to the ElItE boardz, as they contain
   illegal info that will cause major problems on normal systems. ElItE
   systems should make all normal echos available to most people, but
   keep the elite echos to EliTE people only.

 í If you have a really secret message to send, like one that contains
   very illegal info, use PGP (pretty good privacy) to encrypt it. You
   may sign messages in echomail areas, but not encrypt them. Enrypted
   message must be netmail.

 í The network numbers are assigned according to what your phone number
   prefix is. Eg. if your number is 02-534-1702, your are in net 602.

 í The coordinators are arranged as such...

      + Network co-ordinators are responsible for receiving mail from hubs and
        individual nodes in their net. They then pass the mail along to the
        Regional Co-ordinator.
      + The Regional Co-ordinator is responsible for collecting mail from all
        the Network Co-ordinators in the state. The Regional Co-ordinator then
        passes the mail onto the Zone Co-ordinator.
      + The Zone Co-ordinator must collect mail from all the Regional
        Co-ordinators in the country. The Zone Co-ordinator then passes the
        mail to the International Co-ordinator.

 í If you are going to stop receiving mail for more than 7 days, send a request
   to temporarily disable you mail feed.

 í All software mentioned in this TXT is available from Phoenix Fire.

 í IMPORTANT!
   Phoenix Fire, currently the International Co-Ordinator, does NOT have any
   warez as it would be far too risky. Chronic Anarchy does not have WaReZ
   either at the time of writing.

 í HACKnet has several file echos, used for distributing new files to
   nodes. It might be wise to set up a TIC processor to lighten your
   workload.

Being the big cheese, what I say goes. If you got a problem with that,
fuck off. I try to be fair, I'm not a bastard, but you only get one warning
maximum if you do something wrong*. You must be CAREFUL with this network.

Ok Fellas now the fomalities are up I just like to have a word,

      Dont give me shit, Im glad your on this net or thinking of being on it.
BUT since I am the ONLY one that is aproving applicants, I thought you
might want to know how I do that...

1) ElItE systems MUST have a Reference, no reference no entrence !
2) I MUST talk by voice first, im willing to pay for the call if you leave ya
   voice numba with me.

once your on hacknet doesn't mean you cant be pulled off !
for doing such things like this....

1) Doing shit in the net thats going to be lame
2) Giving ax-s to dickheads
3) Putting an origin line on your mail that has a fone numba on it
4) anything else that pisses me and SoNiC off :)


Im sorry I have to tell it so rough but thems the breaks fellas, Sonic and I
are only too happy to help out when getting you on to Hacknet we will answer
any reasonable question, we are not total bastards... we would like to think
you wouldn't shit us by doing stupid things and you know what they are you
have to be CAREFUL with this net its not something you take lightly... there
is one last point I would like to make if ONE of us goes down to the cops we
ALL do... so dont just be secure for yourself be secure for every one else
in this net to ! If Sonic or I happen to call your board and find hacknet
open to the air we are going to get pissed plain and simple...
